Residents of Cape Elizabeth signed up for the 600 available slots in this year’s TD Banknorth Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race in 51 minutes this morning.
Online registration for the popular race, scheduled for Aug. 6 through the streets of Cape Elizabeth, begins Tuesday at 7 a.m. for the general public.
Organizers have set aside 4,000 bib numbers for Tuesday’s registrants. Once that number is reached, a lottery system will determine the remaining 1,750 entrants.
Last year, the 600 slots set aside for Cape Elizabeth residents were gone in 21 minutes and the 4,000 available to the general public in 32 minutes.
The fee to register is $40.
