Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives have arrested a 25-year-old Bridgton man in connection with an investigation into a series of burglaries to homes and businesses.
Deputies arrested William Peters on Thursday afternoon in Windham, charging him with violating probation. Authorities say he was charged following an investigation into daytime burglaries in Standish and Sebago in which thousands of dollars in electronics were stolen.
Much of the stolen merchandise has been recovered, deputies say.
Peters has an extensive criminal history, police said, and is being held at Cumberland County Jail on a probation violation, for which he is ineligible for bail.
