April 1-2: “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” will be performed by the Windham Christian Academy Drama Class at the school on Route 302 in North Windham on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. An English tea will also be served during the play. Through April 10: Windham Center Stage Theater presents “Pinocchio” on the weekends of April 1-3 and April 8-10. All performances take place at the Windham Town Hall/Community Center on School Road. Friday performances start at 7 p.m. Saturday performances start at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday performances start at 2:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $10. Students and seniors are $8. April 1-17: Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake will present “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh In” directed by Keith Halliburton. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for students and seniors and $14 for adults. This show is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. Schoolhouse Arts Center is located on Route 114, just north of the intersection of routes 114 and 35, in Sebago Lake Village. Sunday, April 3: “Mommy Aid” comes to Windham High School at noon. Grace Church is helping moms provide for their babies and toddlers during tough times by giving away baby food, formula, diapers/wipes, and gently-used and new spring/summer clothing to any mom in need. Outrageous Grace Food and Outrageous Grace Clothing will also be there with food pantry goods and gently used clothing for anyone in need. FMI, call Leigh at 515-0596.

Monday, April 4: A Silent & Chinese Auction will be held from 5-8 p.m. at Pat’s Pizza in Windham to raise money for Julie Meserve who is recovering from esophageal cancer. Money raised will help pay medical expenses. Pat’s Pizza has agreed to donate $2 for every pizza ordered in or taken-out during the benefit auction. Come by the restaurant to see auction items, bid, eat and win. All auction items are posted on the Julie Meserve Facebook page. New items are posted daily. Wednesday, April 6: This month, the Windham Land Trust will start holding its business meetings at the Windham Town Library. The meetings take place the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The April 6th agenda will include recent grants to the Trust, the Clark Farm easement and plans for volunteer activities during the coming summer. The meetings are always open to the public and volunteers and other interested parties are encouraged to attend.

April 7-10: The Feeney Players at Saint Joseph’s College present “Comedy Tonight: Three Short Plays.” The troupe will stage three one-act comedic plays, including “The Actor’s Nightmare” by Christopher Durang, “The Problem” by A.R. Gurney, Jr., and “Degas C’est Moi” by David Ives. The show runs Thursday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m., at the Viola George Auditorium in Harold Alfond Hall. Tickets prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 or over and $5 for off-campus students. Tickets are first-come, first-serve at the door; no advance reservations will be taken. Friday, April 8: Windham Christian Academy will be holding its annual Auction and Dinner at 6 p.m. Cost to attend is $13 per adult and $6 for children age 10 and under. Many wonderful items will be auctioned as well as a wonderful dinner catered by Famous Dave’s Barbecue. Menu includes barbecue ribs, chicken, potatoes, broccoli, salad and chicken tenders and mac and cheese for the children. Items include Disney passes, Point Sebago getaway weekend, golfing, hotel gift certificate, many restaurant gift certificates and other items. FMI, 892-2244.

April 8-9: The Jordan-Small Middle School Drama Club will present “Beauty in the Beast, Jr.” on Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9, at 7 p.m. at the Jordan-Small Middle School on Webbs Mills Road in Raymond. Tickets are $5 and available at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Saturday, April 9: The Limington Extension’s ‘Cheep-Cheep’ Easter Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Limington Town Hall, Route 11, Limington. Hundreds of 25-cent items like Easter plush & packages of paper plates, envelopes, toys; $1 hair products and fishing items; $2 clothing and shoes. Fundraiser for BEHS scholarships. Tuesday, April 12: Open House at Windham Christian Academy from 6-7:30 p.m. Come visit with teachers, see the curriculum and tour the building. FMI, 892-2244.

Saturday, April 16: The Athletics Department at Saint Joseph’s College offers its Kids Night Out program at the Harold Alfond Recreation Center on campus. The event, open to children ages 7-13, sponsors games, movies, swimming, rock climbing, arts & crafts and sports. The program goes from 5:30-9 p.m. The price will be $9 per child and $6 for each additional child from the same family. On-site registration on the evening of the event (no pre-registration required). FMI 893-7723.

Saturday, April 16: Saint Joseph’s College will offer a course in CPR for professional rescuers and health care providers at the Harold Alfond Center on the Standish campus. After completing all requirements of the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification valid for two years. The course runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the cost is $60 (or $40 for recertification). If a class is needed on a different day, Saint Joseph’s can create a class at another time if there are four interested people. Call 893-6615 to register or for more information.

April 18-21: Saint Joseph’s College will offer a lifeguard training course. The 28-hour training will train participants according to the newly released lifeguard program, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Qualifying participants will receive an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR certifications. Recertification is also offered. The course runs April 18, 19, 20 and 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and participants must attend all four classes. All classes are at the Harold Alfond Center pool on the Standish campus. To qualify for the course, lifeguards must be: at least 15 years old by the end of class; able to swim 300 yards with 100 yards of front crawl, 100 yards of breast stroke and 100 yards of either front crawl or breast stroke; able to do a 20-yards back-and-forth swim with surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound object from a depth of 7-10 feet, under 1 minute 40 seconds.
