YARMOUTH – Chris Lawlor struck out eight and allowed no earned runs over six innings Wednesday to lead Yarmouth to a 9-4 victory against Wells in a Western Maine Conference baseball game.

Aidan Sullivan had two singles, a double, two RBI and two stolen bases for Yarmouth (2-0).

Paul McDonough and Louis Ditomasso each had a run-scoring double for Wells (1-1).

CHEVERUS 5, THORNTON ACADEMY 4: Harry Ridge entered with one out and runners at first and second in the seventh inning, then struck out the next two hitters as the Stags (2-0) held off the Trojans (1-1) at Portland.

Tyler Flaherty hit a two-run single, and Joey Royer scored on a squeeze by Spencer Cooke for Cheverus.

Alex Newton had three hits with a run, and Sam Canales singled, doubled and scored for Thornton, which trailed 5-2 going into the seventh.

WINDHAM 7, BONNY EAGLE 2: Robbie Hamilton delivered a three-run homer in the first inning and the Eagles (1-1) went on to beat Bonny Eagle (0-2) at Windham.

Cody Dube added a double and two singles, and Ben Noble doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Windham.

Drew Gagnon of the Eagles struck out four, walked four and gave up four hits through five innings.

Nick Caywood drove in two runs on a pair of singles for the Scots.

FALMOUTH 14, FREEPORT 4: The Yachtsmen (1-1) scored nine runs in the first inning and beat Freeport (0-3) in five innings at Falmouth.

Drew Proctor hit a two-run single and Dillon Dresser added a three-run homer in the first. Proctor finished with four RBI, two hits and two runs for Falmouth.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 11, MT. VIEW 0: Merritt Wotton went 4 for 5 with a triple, four RBI and a run as the Eagles (3-0) cruised past the Mustangs (0-3) at Thorndike.

Alex Cosgrove, Dalton Leeman and Brandon Reilly combined on a four-hit shutout.

Cosgrove had seven strikeouts. Leeman struck out five.

TRAIP ACADEMY 16, SACOPEE VALLEY 5: Lucas Edwards went 3 for 4 with a three-run homer and six RBI, and Christian Montembeau added two hits and three RBI as the Rangers (2-0) cruised past the Hawks (0-2) at South Hiram.

Edwards also struck out six and scattered eight hits.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 8, YORK 4: Heath Martel hit a two-run homer with two outs in the seventh inning to tie the game and Ryan Cavallaro added a three-run blast during a four-run eighth to lift the Patriots (2-1) over the Wildcats (2-1) at York.

Anthony Schiaudone went 3 for 5 with a double and two runs, and Chris Cole added a two-run homer for York.

CAPE ELIZABETH 9, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Rob MacDonald pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and two walks, and also hit a single and a triple with an RBI as the Capers (1-0) beat the Raiders (1-2) at Fryeburg.

Cam Brown finished with two doubles and three RBI.

Kyle Bonner hit a solo homer for Fryeburg.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 6, WATERVILLE 5: Alex Greenrose hit a two-run, walk-off single in the ninth inning to lift Medomak Valley (2-1) over Waterville (2-1) at Waldoboro.

Greenrose finished with three hits and four RBI for Medomak, which scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth after Waterville scored three times in the top half of the inning.

ST. DOMINIC 8, BOOTHBAY REGION 3: Payton Dostie hit a two-run double during a five-run fourth inning as the Saints won an opener at Boothbay Harbor.

Will Desmarais had two hits for St. Dominic.

Nick Greenleaf led Boothbay with a pair of singles and an RBI.
