LINCOLN, N.H. – Five kayakers have been found safe in a remote area of New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest. The group had planned to make a 13-mile trip. Authorities were notified after midnight when the five hadn’t returned to Dartmouth University.
Search crews hiked into the remote area looking for them. An Army National Guard helicopter spotted the group Friday morning on the water paddling.
Fish and Game officials said the group of experienced kayakers had been delayed.
