PORTLAND — To honor the 100th birthday of artist Will Barnet, the Portland Museum of Art is showing an installation of his work through Aug. 14.

“Will Barnet at 100” features more than a dozen lithographs, drawings, watercolors and oils on canvas from the museum’s collection, as well as works on loan.

Barnet, a longtime summer resident of Maine, turns 100 on May 25.

A painter, printmaker and teacher, his work is in collections from coast to coast, and he has mentored generations of students at the Art Students League of New York, Yale University, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Cooper Union in New York.
