AUGUSTA — Gov. Paul LePage announced today that the Joint Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs voted in favor of appointing Gregory Johnson of Harpswell to the University of Maine System Board of Trustees.
LePage nominated Johnson in April.
He is a native of Westmanland, Maine, and currently resides in Harpswell. He is a 1964 graduate of Caribou High School and a 1968 graduate of the University of Maine.
Johnson faces confirmation this month by the Senate.
