YORK – Jack Radke drove in the winning run with a two-out, two-strike double in the eighth inning as York edged Falmouth 6-5 Wednesday in a Western Maine Conference baseball game.

Chris Cole started the winning rally for the Wildcats (5-3) with a one-out single. Jon Warner ran for Cole and stole second before easily scoring on Radke’s double.

Matt MacDowell hit a pair of solo home runs for the Yachtsmen (4-4). Zach Leal had a two-run homer for York.

 

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 9, SACOPEE VALLEY 8: Jeremy Legere drove in three runs as the Seagulls (4-5) held off the visiting Hawks (0-8).

Legere hit a two-run double in a five-run first and an RBI single in the three-run third.

The Hawks scored five runs in the seventh before reliever Jason Dutton ended the game with a strikeout.

Jack Reynolds had three hits for Sacopee Valley.

 

WESTBROOK 10, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Sean Murphy pitched a two-hitter, walked two and struck out four as the Blue Blazes (7-0) defeated the Trojans (3-4) at Saco.

Zach Gardiner had two hits and drove in one run and Adam Begos added a two-run single.

Alex Newton and Matt Turnage each doubled for Thornton.

GREELY 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Pete Stauber and Liam Maker each had three hits and scored a run to lead the Rangers (8-1) past the Patriots (3-6) at Gray.

Tim Lerette doubled and scored a run for the Patriots.

 

LINCOLN ACADEMY 10, MCI 0: Alex Cosgrove pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks as the Eagles (6-2) shut out the Huskies (0-8) at Newcastle.

Steve Quinlan homered on the first pitch in the bottom of the first and Brandon Reilly hit a two-run homer to end the game because of the mercy rule.

ROCKLAND 8, BELFAST 7: Joey Nelson homered as Rockland (1-8) beat the Eagles (5-4) at Belfast.

Luke Morrill, Nelson and Justin Snow each scored twice for the Tigers.

 

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 12, TRAIP ACADEMY 6: Michael Ianno doubled home two runs and scored on Eli Leavitt’s triple as the Panthers (5-1) scored four times in the second inning and beat the Rangers (5-3) at Yarmouth.

NYA increased the lead to 8-3 before adding four runs in the fifth, highlighted by Allen Browne’s two-run double.

LAKE REGION 7, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 5: Alex Hartford had three hits and an RBI and earned the win with 32/3 innings of relief as Lake Region (3-5) won at Fryeburg.

Adam Shane had an RBI double and pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.

Colby Locke was 2 for 2 with a home run and two RBI for the Raiders (1-9).

 

MEDOMAK VALLEY 8, NOKOMIS 4: Isaac Greenrose’s two-run homer highlighted a five-run first inning as the Panthers (6-3) started fast against Nokomis (3-6) at Waldoboro.

WESTBROOK 7, CHEVERUS 6: Derrick Payne scored four times as Westbrook (4-4) defeated the Stags (1-5) in triple overtime at Portland.

Matt Cavanaugh added a goal and three assists for the Blue Blazes.

 

PORTLAND 14, BIDDEFORD 0: Bronson Guimond had four goals and an assist and Ryan Jurgelevich made eight saves as the Bulldogs (7-0) defeated Biddeford (1-5) at Portland.

Evan Michalski, Seamus Kilbride, Gary McDonald and Jason Webster each scored twice.

THORNTON ACADEMY 15, GORHAM 11: Thomas Abbott had seven goals and two assists to lead the Trojans (4-2) past the Rams (4-2) at Saco.

Gorham was led by Tyler Rankin with six goals.

 

KENNEBUNK 6, DEERING 4: Max Meserve had three goals and one assist, and Sean Foley added three assists as Kennebunk (3-3) built a 6-1 lead and held off visiting Deering (6-1).

BRUNSWICK 16, MT. BLUE 4: Zach Duffy and Seth Holmblad scored three goals each to lead the Dragons (2-3) over Mt. Blue (3-3) at Brunswick.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 8, WINDHAM 5: Harrison Keithley had three goals and Ryan Hannigan scored two as South Portland (4-3) rallied past the Eagles (1-4) at Windham.

Daniel St. Peter finished with two goals and an assist, and led Windham to a 4-3 halftime lead.
