OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Justin Crossley went 3 for 4 with two RBI and Nathan Billings had two hits and two RBI today as Rochester College beat Southern Maine Community College 9-0 in the opening day of the U.S. Collegiate Small College World Series at The Ballpark.

Billings had a two-run double in a five-run second inning for the Warriors (21-17).

Starter Steve Bedsole pitched three innings for Rochester (Mich.), allowing two hits. Relievers Hunter Reams (1 inning), MIke Rau (1) and Andrew Jarrell (2) allowed no hits over the last four innings.

Mustafa Jamal allowed nine runs, seven earned, in 3 1/3 innings for the Seawolves (12-21), who next play at 8:30 Monday morning.
