BANGOR — University of Maine System trustees are setting tuition rates at the state’s seven universities for the coming school year.
The board is holding a two-day meeting today and Monday at the system’s headquarters in Bangor.
The board on Monday will vote on the system’s 2011-2012 budget and on a proposed tuition increase of 4.3 percent – which is a weighted average of tuition rates at all seven university campuses.
Chancellor Richard Pattenaude said the tuition proposal is the lowest in-state increase since 2002, when tuition went up 4.2 percent.
