The Samoset Resort in Rockport has nearly completed a seven-month, $2 million renovation.

The resort, owned by Ocean Properties Ltd., which has offices in New Hampshire and Florida, will have a new seaside spa, Italian restaurant and three new guest cottages. In addition, the resort has upgraded 28 rooms in the deluxe wing and added an observation deck that overlooks the golf course and Atlantic ocean, said general manager Connie Russell.

The new restaurant, La Bella Vita Restaurant and Enoteca Lounge, has a antipasto bar, wood-fired oven and Italian marketplace. It replaces the old Marcel’s and Breakwater Café.

The spa and restaurant renovations are expected to be completed in June.

“We felt, from guest feedback, that we needed to modernize and produce what our guests were looking for, and we wanted to add a spa to keep up with the times,” Russell said.

In the last two years, Samoset has added a shallow-entry pool and a pool bar and café, and upgraded its fleet of golf carts.
