After extending from Wednesday to Saturday the regular season for high school tennis, the Maine Principals’ Association bumped back the state singles tournament.
Originally scheduled to begin Friday and conclude Memorial Day, the singles tournament Round of 48 for boys and girls will begin Monday and continue through quarterfinals on Tuesday, all at Bates College in Lewiston. Semifinals and finals are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on June 4 at Bates.
Preliminary-round matches in the team tournament, originally scheduled for Tuesday, are now scheduled for June 1 with regional quarterfinals on June 3. Regional semis have been bumped from June 4 to June 6.
Regional and state finals remain unchanged: June 8 (Western Maine at Bates, Eastern Maine at Colby) and June 11 (Colby).
