CUMBERLAND – Yarmouth recovered after giving up a 7-2 lead and defeated Greely 8-7 in eight innings Thursday in a Western Maine Conference softball game.

Suzanne Driscoll tripled and scored on a single by Lauren Wrobleski for the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth for the Clippers (13-2).

The Rangers (8-6) rallied from a five-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh, taking advantage of a two-run double by Michaela Finnegan and a pair of Yarmouth errors.

Julie Dursema had a three-run triple for Yarmouth in the third.

THORNTON ACADEMY 1, DEERING 0: Julia Geaumont pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk, and was a repeat hitter for the Golden Trojans (13-2) against the Rams (3-12) at Saco.

Geaumont allowed a leadoff single to Alexis Elowitch in the second inning.

Kayla Wheeler pitched a five-hitter with two strikeouts and five walks for Deering.

CHEVERUS 17, PORTLAND 4: Izzi Grasso had 10 strikeouts and no walks while pitching a four-hitter to lead visiting Cheverus (2-11) past Portland (0-14).

Katie Roy had two hits, four RBI and four runs scored for the Stags. Brittany Bell added two hits, two RBI and three runs.

MASSABESIC 9, BONNY EAGLE 7: Regan Adams had two hits and three RBI, and Amber Libby had two hits with a solo home run to help the Mustangs (5-9) get by the Scots (5-8) at Standish.

Mariah Harrison drove in two runs for Bonny Eagle, and Julia Boucher and Lindsay Somerset each had an RBI triple.

WELLS 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Kelsey Bragdon pitched a six-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks as the Warriors (9-5) beat the Patriots (7-8) at Gray.

Sabrina Link hit a two-run double as Wells got out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

LACROSSE

CAPE ELIZABETH 10, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 6: Hannah Newhall had four goals and Anna Darling scored three as the Capers (8-3) held off the visiting Panthers (4-7).

Katie Cawley had three goals, Emily Claytor had two and Molly Strabley also scored for NYA.

DEERING 14, LEWISTON 7: Zahra Abu scored seven goals and Kayla Vachon added three to lead Deering (4-7) past visiting Lewiston (4-7).

Saba Naji had three goals for the Blue Devils.

BONNY EAGLE 12, MCAULEY 10: Carissa Farwell scored four goals and Marissa Butler made 17 saves for the Scots (5-6), who took an 8-4 halftime lead over the Lions (6-6) at Portland.

Clare McLaughlin had four goals for McAuley.

MARSHWOOD 7, THORNTON ACADEMY 4: Alli Schoff, Janay Wright and Erica Sedler had two goals apiece as the Hawks (6-5) downed the Golden Trojans (6-5) at South Berwick.

CHEVERUS 15, GORHAM 14: Sarah LaQuerre and Meredith Willard each had four goals and two assists as the Stags (3-9) upset the Rams (9-3) at Portland.

Mia Rapolla had five goals and Kali St. Germain scored two for Gorham.

MASSABESIC 20, SANFORD 3: Nikki Smith had six goals and two assists as the Mustangs (5-6) beat the Redskins (6-5) at Waterboro.

Heather Everett had four goals and two assists, and Alyssa Gilman added three goals and one assist.

WINDHAM 20, NOBLE 4: Christina Pollard and Emily Gilman each had four goals as the Eagles (7-4) routed the Knights (0-11) at North Berwick.

Stephanie Ruger had three goals for Noble.
