BAR HARBOR — The College of the Atlantic in Maine is holding its largest graduation at its 39th commencement ceremonies.
Eighty-five seniors and two graduate students are receiving degrees today. Actress Jane Alexander, former head of the National Endowment for the Arts, is giving the commencement address.
Graduates represent the United States and 10 other nations, and 24 states.
The Bar Harbor college was founded in 1969. At its green graduation, all paper is recycled, all disposable tableware is compostable, no bottled water is served, and as much food as possible is local and organic.
