PORTLAND — A man and woman were indicted today in connection with a doughnut shop robbery that involved a knife.
Forty-year-old Michael Hale and 28-year-old Destany Lewis, both of Portland, were each indicted on a count of Class A robbery, the most serious level of robbery. The use of a weapon puts the crime in that category.
Police said the two went into a Dunkin’ Donuts shop on St. John Street on March 12 and gave a note demanding money to the clerk. Hale displayed a knife, according to police.
Lewis was arrested on March 19. Hale was arrested April 2.
