Winner announced in race for at large seat on Standish Town Council

STANDISH – John M. Sargent defeated Wayne Newbegin to win the at-large seat in Tuesday’s race for Town Council.

Standish Town Clerk Mary Chapman said Sargent collected 295 votes to Newbegin’s 236.

Also elected to the council were Area Two representative Karen Tompson and Area Four councilor Louis Stack. Tompson and Stack were unopposed.
