7/16 at 2:06 a.m. Ian M. Anderson, 21, of Westland Avenue, Portland, was arrested on Gray Road by Officer Jeff Pardue on a charge of operating under the influence.
Summonses
7/16 at 10:58 a.m. Randall Scott Lothrop, 37, of Randall Road, Lewiston, was issued a summons on Gray Road by Officer Kerry Warner on a charge of operating after a license was suspended.
Dangerous mailbox bomb
7/15 at 5:36 p.m. A resident on Alpine Drive reported finding a bottle filled with a mysterious liquid in his mailbox. Officers responded and determined it was a failed improvised explosive device that makes use of a basic chemical reaction to blow up small items such as mailboxes. Police report the small bomb can be dangerous at close range and encourage people to call police rather than investigating themselves.
Wanted more bang for his buck
7/19 at 2:58 p.m. A Walmart employee called police to report that a customer got angry and threatened a store employee when he refused to allow the customer to return ammunition. The customer allegedly told the clerk he would come back and use the ammunition at the store. Police are still investigating the incident.
Excellent police work
7/20 at 2:31 p.m. A caller reported a teenage boy missing when he did not return from a paintball trip with friends. An officer responded and suggested the parents call the boy’s cell phone. He reportedly answered and said he was OK.
