PORTLAND — The Portland Sea Dogs pounded out 13 hits, but could do little with runners on base. Meanwhile, the Portland pitching faltered as the Sea Dogs lost a 13-5 decision to the Akron Aeros this afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Sea Dogs pitchers yielded eight walks, while hitting one batter. The bullpen allowed two three-run home runs in the rout.

New outfielder Ronald Bermudez was one bright spot, with a 4-for-5 day, with one RBI. Will Middlebrooks was 3-for-5, adding a solo home run in the ninth.

The Sea Dogs (49-68) return to Hadlock Field Friday night at 7 p.m., against the Erie Seawolves.
