The storm is expected to hit western Maine starting late Saturday night. Westbrook Public Safety Director Michael Pardue said Friday that the city will open the school at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
The school will be equipped with cots, blankets, food and other basic provisions, but Pardue encouraged anyone staying at the shelter to bring any required prescription medications.
