PORTLAND — All commercial flights in and out of the Portland Jetport were canceled for today.

Paul Bradbury, the Jetport’s director, said a Continental flight bound for Newark is the only airplane at the Jetport. That flight has been canceled.

Bradbury said the impact of Tropical Storm Irene is significant.

August is one of the Jetport’s busiest months of the year, with between 6,000 and 7,000 passenger boardings typical for a day in August.

Bradbury said he expects flights will resume Monday morning, but cautioned travelers to check Portlandjetport.org before heading to the airport.
