PORTLAND – Cole Spike scored early in the second half to lift Deering to a 1-0 win over Portland in an SMAA girls’ soccer match Friday.

LeeAnn Downs only faced two shots to earn the shutout for Deering (2-0).

Mishale Nabi made 20 saves for Portland (0-3).

MASSABESIC 2, WESTBROOK 0: Ceara Pelletier converted a through pass from Heather Everett 18 minutes into the first half to lift the Mustangs (1-1) over the Blue Blazes (0-2) at Waterboro.

Rayne Whitten added an unassisted goal 23 minutes into the second and Gemma Lundrigan made nine saves.

Westbrook’s Samantha Russell turned back 16 shots.

OCEANSIDE 3, MEDOMAK VALLEY 2: Oceanside scored three goals in the second half to rally from a 2-0 deficit against the Panthers (1-2) at Waldoboro.

Rose McGeady, Jesse Veilleux and Jill Bradbury scored for Oceanside.

Medomak earned its 2-0 lead on scores from Maria Ennamorti and Alanna Vose.

RICHMOND 10, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Danica Hurley scored three of her five goals during the first half as the Bobcats rolled at home.

Hurley also assisted on Noell Acord’s goal 10 seconds into the second half for Richmond (3-0). Sadie Gosse, Kayla Beaulieu, Amber Loon and Chika Obi capped the scoring.

Lyndsy Hoopingamer and Kelsi Obi needed to make just three saves to earn the win, while Bethany Ruiz made 16 saves for Greater Portland Christian.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 8, BOOTHBAY 3: Chelsea Arsenault and Danielle Baumann each tallied two goals and an assist, and Carly Kemp added two goals to lead the visiting Mustangs to a Mountain Valley Conference win at Boothbay Harbor.

Ashley Coulombe and Colby Wilson also scored for Monmouth (3-0). Natalie Young made four saves.

Abbie Hdellan scored twice for Boothbay (0-3) and Avery Laderer scored once. Mikayla McFetridge made 16 saves.

MADISON 3, ST. DOMINIC 1: Sam McLaughlin scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Bulldogs (3-0) to a win at Madison.

Kirsten Wood opened the scoring with an assist from Melissa White, and Nathalie Michaud made it 3-0 in the second half.

Kayla McClellan’s penalty kick put St. Dominic on the board with 5:40 left in the game.

Madison keeper Savanna Kandiko made 10 saves, while Mary Caron registered eight saves for St. Dominic (1-1).

BOYS’ SOCCER

TRAIP ACADEMY 7, GR. PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Brandon Metevier and Evan Pereira each scored twice to lead the Rangers (1-1) past the Lions (0-2) at Portland.

Ralph Humiston, Alex Bailey and Garrett Rosen also scored.

LEWISTON 2, LAWRENCE 0: Dahar Muktar and Yusuf Yama each scored unassisted goals to lead the Blue Devils (1-1-1) to a win in Fairfield.

FALMOUTH 4, CAPE ELIZABETH 1: Leika Scott scored in each half to help the Yachtsmen (3-0-1) beat the Capers (1-1-1) at Falmouth.

Haley Mucci also scored in the first half, and Megan Fortier added a second-half goal. Hannah Sonneson scored a late goal for the Capers.

Cape’s Juliann Ayers blocked 14 shots. Hillary Nash made five saves for Falmouth.

CHEVERUS 5, WINDHAM 1: Sarah LaQuerre’s goal from a scramble broke a 1-1 tie 28 seconds into the second half, and Cheverus (3-0) scored four unanswered goals to pull away from the Eagles (1-2) in Portland.

Molly McVetty’s goal off a penalty stroke gave Windham a 1-0 lead with 12 minutes left in the first half. LaQuerre knotted the match with an unassisted goal a minute later.

LaQuerre added a third goal before Emily Rodrigue tallied the final two.

Libby DesRuisseaux made eight saves for the Stags, and Cindy Clark stopped one shot. Windham’s Andrea Feeney had seven saves.

GREELY 5, WELLS 1: Julia Maine scored the first two goals for the Rangers (3-1) in a win over the Warriors (0-3) at Cumberland.

Eliza Porter added a goal and an assist, and Ceci Hodgkins and Rachel Hanson scored a goal apiece.

Panida Theerathampitak had the only goal for Wells.

NYA 5, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Katie Cawley had three goals and an assist to lead the Panthers (3-1) over the Rangers (0-3) at Yarmouth.

Katherine Millett and Bailey Clock each added a goal, and Elizabeth Coughlin made 10 saves.

SACOPEE VALLEY 4, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Chelsey Burnell scored a pair of goals and Danielle Pierce added three assists as the Hawks (1-1) downed the Seagulls (1-2) at South Hiram.

Julia Vacchiano and Allyson Allard also scored for Sacopee Valley, and Ashley Pingree made five saves.

Seagulls goalie Hannah Parks finished with 11 saves.

MARSHWOOD 4, MCAULEY 0: Natalia Bachelder had a goal and an assist to help the Hawks (2-1) shut out the Lions (1-2) at South Berwick.

Bachelder set up Hailey Bruno-Moulton for the first goal, then Bachelder and Ashley Hickey each added a goal before halftime. Sammy Crosman rounded out the scoring with a second-half goal.

Jacque Tworkowski made eight saves for the shutout.

THURSDAY’S GIRLS’ SOCCER

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 4, NYA 3: Amy Twohig scored twice for the Seagulls (2-0), who took a 3-0 lead and held off the Panthers (0-3) at Yarmouth.

Anna Foss had a goal and an assist for Old Orchard. Abby Fucciani also scored.

THURSDAY’S FIELD HOCKEY

THORNTON ACADEMY 2, KENNEBUNK 0: Michele Banville tipped in a shot by Mary Brown and Morgan Dube scored off a rebound as the Golden Trojans (2-1) downed the visiting Rams (1-2).
