LONDON — Dramatically different divas Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Adele are facing off for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.

Flamboyant chanteuse Lady Gaga leads the field with six nominations, including best song and video for “Born This Way,” and best live act.

Pop songstress Katy Perry is nominated in the live act, song, pop and female performer categories. Adele, known for stripped-down performances and soulful vocals, is up for four awards: best female act, best British or Irish act, best song and best video, for “Rolling in the Deep.”

Other multiple nominees announced Monday include Bruno Mars, with four nominations, and Justin Bieber, with three.

The awards ceremony, held in a different European city each year, will take place in Belfast on Nov. 6.

NEW YORK – Legendary crooner Tony Bennett celebrated his 85th birthday at the Metropolitan Opera House on Sunday, dancing, joking and singing with Aretha Franklin, Elton John and Alejandro Sanz for a capacity crowd.

“Nobody under 85 can complain about jack,” said Whoopi Goldberg, who was there. “Don’t tell me you are tired. I don’t want to hear it. Tony Bennett can sing a cappella in the Met.”

Ex-President Clinton kicked off the evening’s festivities, saying he and his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are longtime fans of Bennett’s music and art. (Bennett is a painter, too.)

Bennett, whose actual birthday was Aug. 3, then performed such hits as “The Best is Yet to Come” and “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”

The newspaper said Gosselin told officers she was speeding to get home to her kids.

Gosselin’s reality show about her life as the mother of twins and sextuplets was canceled this year.

Pair divided on Anthony

ORLANDO, Fla. – Casey Anthony’s father says he doesn’t believe it’s possible to reconnect with his acquitted daughter, who he says should be held responsible for his 2-year-old granddaughter’s death.

George Anthony told “Dr. Phil” host Phil McGraw that after being accused by his daughter’s lawyers during her murder trial of molesting her, he doesn’t think a relationship is in the offing.

But Cindy Anthony said in a segment that aired Monday she hopes the relationship between her and her daughter can be mended.
