PORTLAND — Robert Infante of Alfred was sentenced today in U.S. District Court to the mandatory minimum of 35 years in prison on federal weapons and drug charges.

Infante was injured in June 2010 when a pipe bomb he was working on exploded in his home.

Firefighters responding to the scene searched Infante’s home and found more than a dozen pipe bombs, materials for making others and 200 marijuana plants.

Authorities later found two handguns and ammunition in the house and seized five pipe bombs from Infante’s car.

Infante said he will appeal the sentence.
