HAMDEN, Conn. – Danielle Ward scored in overtime to lift the University of Maine to a 5-4 win over Quinnipiac in a women’s hockey game Saturday.

Dawn Sullivan assisted on the winning goal 2:32 into OT as the Black Bears (4-0) completed a comeback from a 4-1 deficit against the Bobcats (1-3). Maine forced overtime on a goal by Brittany Dougherty, assisted by Chloe Tinkler.

Ward finished with two goals and Dougherty added an assist.

MEN’S SOCCER

COLBY 2, BOWDOIN 0: Nick Aubin broke a scoreless tie with 11:20 to play to help the Mules (5-4, 2-4 NESCAC) over the Polar Bears (4-4-1, 1-4-1) at Brunswick.

PLYMOUTH STATE 3, USM 1: The Panthers (2-8, 1-3 Little East) got goals from three players to get past the Huskies (2-10, 2-2) at Gorham.

Jeff Soules scored for Southern Maine on a penalty kick.

WESLEYAN 3, BATES 0: Rory O’Neil scored twice as the Cardinals (8-0, 7-0-1 NESCAC) shut out the Bobcats (2-6, 0-6) at Middletown, Conn.

Greg Watts had six saves for Bates.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 1, UM-MACHIAS 1: Nick Broadhurst scored for SMCC 22:42 into the game, and Franck Zeba converted Stefan Zalucky’s assist 12:10 later at Machias.

WNEC 4, UNE 1: Western New England (11-2-1, 5-0 Commonwealth Coast) scored three second-half goals to pull away from the Nor’easters (2-9, 1-5) at Biddeford.

Steve Contestabile scored for UNE on assists from Kiel Hiller and Evan Healy to cut the deficit to 3-1 with 11:44 left.

ST. JOSEPH’S 4, RIVIER 0: Joe Murphy had two goals, and Zach Johnson and Ali Hersi also scored as the Monks (7-4, 4-2 GNAC) downed the Raiders (0-8, 0-6) at Standish.

BOWDOIN 0, COLBY 0: Maddie Lane stopped a breakaway late in regulation for Bowdoin (3-3-3, 0-3-3 NESCAC) and made four saves in overtime, and Emily Brook made 12 saves for Colby (4-4-1, 1-4-1) in a tie at Brunswick.

WESLEYAN 1, BATES 0: Laura Kurash scored 36 seconds into the second half to give the Cardinals (6-4, 3-4 NESCAC) a victory over the Bobcats (2-4-2, 0-4-2) at Middletown, Conn.

Annie Burns made seven saves for Bates.

UNE 3, WNEC 1: Alice Read scored the go-ahead goal early in the second half as the Nor’easters (9-1-2, 5-0-1 Commonwealth Coast) edged Western New England (2-9-2, 0-4-1) at Biddeford.
