PORTLAND — Portland police were still searching tonight for the man who stole a purse from a 66 year-old Portland woman.
Lt. Scott Pelletier said the woman was walking behind a building a 218 State St. around 9 p.m. Sunday when a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt came up from behind the woman and yanked the purse from her shoulder.
Pelletier said the purse snatcher made off with cash and personal items. The victim, who was shaken up, was not injured.
However, police were left with a clue. The man lost one of his shoes which was taken into evidence.
