GRAY — Mitch Newlin broke a tie early in the second half and unbeaten Waynflete went on to a 2-0 victory against Gray-New Gloucester in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy soccer game Monday.

Paul Runyabo gave the Flyers (9-0-3) a 2-0 lead.

Zander Majercik made three saves for the shutout.

Nick Rogers made five saves for Gray-New Gloucester (4-7-1).

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 10, ACADIA CHRISTIAN 1: Ryan Waugh, Adam Simpson, Luke Bennett and Jordan Peters each had two goals as the Lions (7-5) cruised past the Seahawks (1-8) at Ellsworth.

Waugh and Simpson each added a pair of assists. Sam Whiting and Ben Roche also scored for Greater Portland Christian.

WINDHAM 5, WESTBROOK 1: Robbie Hamilton and Marc Reynolds each scored twice to lift the Eagles (9-2) over the Blue Blazes (2-7-2) at Westbrook.

Robbie Lentine got the first goal and Bryan Soucy finished with two assists for Windham.

Dylan Gillis answered for Westbrook.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

GORHAM 6, KENNEBUNK 0: Kiersten Turner had two goals to help Gorham (11-0) win at Kennebunk (5-6-1).

Sierra Peters, Morgan Cushing, Lindsey Smith and Abbie Laporte also scored.

Jen Richardson made 10 saves for Kennebunk.

NOBLE 3, MARSHWOOD 2: Justina Shorey scored with three minutes remaining in the second overtime as the Knights (4-7) defeated the Hawks (4-5-1) at North Berwick.

Marshwood took a 2-0 halftime lead on goals by Hannah Folger and Lydia St. Pierre.

Marissa McKenna and Alex Sardinha scored three minutes apart midway through the second half to tie it before Gabby Reil found Shorey for the victory.

Jessica Bickford finished with seven saves for Noble.

Tatum Schladenhauffen made five saves for Marshwood.

SACOPEE VALLEY 2, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 1: Brook Totman scored on a free kick with three minutes left in the second overtime as the Hawks (5-6-1) edged the Lions (0-9) at South Hiram.

Emily Colbert scored for Sacopee late in the first half before Elaine Beech tied it a minute later.

Clarissa Jones finished with 26 saves for Greater Portland Christian. Colbert and Shelly Pellegrino combined for five saves for the Hawks.

WELLS 2, YARMOUTH 0: Sophie Lamb had a goal and an assist as the Warriors (2-8-2) shut out the Clippers (5-7) at Wells.

Alison Duplisea also scored.

Kaitlyn Tufts made 15 saves for the shutout.

Shannon Fallon stopped seven shots for Yarmouth.

FIELD HOCKEY

SANFORD 6, BIDDEFORD 0: Caroline L’Heureux scored four goals to power the Redskins (10-1) past the Tigers (2-9-1) at Biddeford.

Emily Salls and Janelle Cannon also scored.

Mackenzie Hevey made 10 saves for Biddeford.

BOOTHBAY REGION 3, HALL-DALE 0: Sarah Caron and Jess Murray each had a goal and an assist for the Seahawks (6-7) against the Bulldogs (2-10-1) at Farmingdale.

Brooke Alley also scored, and Madison McCarthy made two saves for the shutout.

KENNEBUNK 3, NOBLE 0: Jen Davis finished with a goal and an assist, and Cheyenne Knox and Rebecca Collins also scored to lead the Rams (6-7) past the Knights (1-11-1) at Kennebunk.

Bryanna Hoffman finished with seven saves for Noble.

VOLLEYBALL

MT. DESERT ISLAND 3, GORHAM 2: Hannah Tardiff had 11 blocks, nine kills and eight digs to power the Trojans (12-0) past the Rams (6-6) at Gorham.

India Ross had 12 kills, 11 digs and 12 assists, and Marina Gilpatrick had 10 digs and 13 assists for MDI.

Lindsay Chapman had 10 kills and nine digs, Vicki Parker had 10 kills and Kaitlyn Seehusen added 23 assists for Gorham.

GREELY 3, MT. DESERT ISLAND 0: Emily Sampson had 17 kills, two aces and 14 digs as the Rangers (12-0) downed the Trojans (12-1) at Cumberland.

Haleigh Roach added 17 assists, four kills and three aces for Greely.

India Ross led MDI with four kills, three aces and three digs.
