YORK – Cari Posternak had two goals and an assist Tuesday to lead York to a 3-1 victory against Lake Region in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game.

After Lucy Fowler gave the Lakers (5-5-3) a 1-0 lead with 24:08 left in the opening half, Posternak set up Andrea Beaulieu to tie it for the Wildcats (13-1) with 11:51 remaining in the half.

Posternak then scored twice in the second half. Shelby Spencer assisted on both goals, and Tori Stocks and Liz Fiorentino also had assists.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1, WAYNFLETE 0: Catherine Millett took advantage of a goal-mouth scramble to score after 20:31 and the Panthers (10-3) downed Waynflete (5-8) at Portland.

Kailina Mills finished with 14 saves for the Flyers. Elizabeth Coughlin stopped two shots for NYA.

YARMOUTH 2, FREEPORT 1: Fiona Clarke scored with 7:57 left to lift Yarmouth (6-6-2) over the Falcons (8-6) at Freeport.

After Kayla Thurlow scored for Freeport from Mia Thomas, Emma Peterson tied it before halftime.

BRUNSWICK 1, MT. ARARAT 0: Kassie Coulombe scored with 7:20 left as the Dragons (4-9-1) downed Mt. Ararat (2-7-5) at Brunswick.

Sydney Escoe needed four saves for the shutout. Raven Demasi knocked away seven shots for Mt. Ararat.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 5, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Ellen Bacchiochi scored twice as the Raiders (12-2) shut out Gray-New Gloucester (0-13-1) at Fryeburg.

Bacchiochi and Sage Hennessey scored in the first half. Ellie Jones, Bacchiochi and Courtney Bartlett scored in less than a two-minute span in the second.

TRAIP ACADEMY 3, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Traip Academy (7-7) scored all of its goals in the second half to rally past the Seagulls (3-11) at Old Orchard Beach.

After Daphne Allen went across the top of the circle and scored 5:17 before halftime for Old Orchard, Kendra Kagiliery tied it less than five minutes into the second half. Kaylie Andrews scored the final two for the Rangers.

SACOPEE VALLEY 5, POLAND 0: Julia Vacchiano had two goals and Danielle Pierce added three assists as the Hawks (11-2-1) handled the Knights (0-13-1) at South Hiram.

Gabriella Joy, Maya Richmond and Allyson Allard also scored, and Chelsea Burnell finished with two assists for Sacopee.

BOOTHBAY REGION 1, WINTHROP 1: Madison McCarthy had eight saves for the Seahawks (6-7-1) and Alyssa Arsenault stopped five shots for the Ramblers (10-2-2) at Winthrop.

DEERING 3, MARSHWOOD 0: Alexis Sivovlos had a goal in each half as the Rams (6-5-1) shut out the Hawks (4-7-1) at Portland.

Sivovlos scored the only goal of the first half, then again after 1:20 of the second.

CAPE ELIZABETH 5, WAYNFLETE 1: Melanie Vangel finished with three goals as the Capers (10-0-2) beat Waynflete (9-2) with a four-goal second half at Cape Elizabeth.

Vangel had Cape’s lone score of the first half, but Lillian Harper scored for the Flyers two minutes before halftime to tie it.

GREELY 9, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Audrey Parolin, Sammi Toorish, Allie Morrill and Shannon Fitzpatrick scored two goals apiece to lead Greely (12-1) over North Yarmouth Academy (2-10-1) at Cumberland.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6, LAKE REGION 3: Fryeburg Academy (3-6-3) got two goals each from Carla Tripp and Jamie Gullikson to beat Lake Region (4-6-1) at Naples.

The Raiders took a 4-1 lead in the first half. Maria Roca and Megan MacGillivray also had goals for Fryeburg.

MORSE 3, LEAVITT 0: Katie Henrikson scored twice for Morse (11-0) against Leavitt (5-3-3) at Turner.

MCAULEY 3, BIDDEFORD 0: Olivia Smith, Shelby Bryant and Delaney Regan scored, and Molly Miller made nine saves as the Lions (2-8-1) defeated the Tigers (2-9-1) at Biddeford.

POLAND 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Emily Bolduc had a goal and an assist to lead the Knights (4-9) over the Patriots (4-7-1) at Poland.

Sophie Spiller and Emma Turton also scored, and Tenisha Elston and Anna Bolduc had assists for the Knights.

MASSABESIC 2, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Alyssa Gilman scored the winning goal on a direct kick with 10 minutes left as Massabesic (6-5) beat the Red Riots (5-5-1) at South Portland.

South Portland took the lead in the 35th minute when Emily Masters scored unassisted. Holly Ledoux tied it 20 seconds into the second half when her shot deflected off a defender.

FREEPORT 2, WELLS 0: Jocelyn Bavee scored twice in the final 15 minutes to boost Freeport (5-7) over the Warriors (2-9-2) at Wells.

Abby Roney made nine saves for the shutout. Kaitlyn Tufts collected 13 saves for Wells.

YORK 2, FALMOUTH 0: Colleen Tourigny and Alexa Bando scored for the Wildcats (8-3-1) against the Yachtsmen (8-3-1) at York.

Tourigny scored nine minutes into the game and Bando scored from Kayla Swasey 1:40 before halftime.

VOLLEYBALL

SCARBOROUGH 3, YARMOUTH 0: Brittany Bona finished with 15 kills and seven digs, and Emily Robbins had 27 assists to lead the Red Storm (11-2) past the Clippers (9-4) at Yarmouth.
