Quarterfinal pairings for the Western Class A football playoffs are now set after Thornton Academy’s 34-0 victory Saturday over Biddeford, which gave the Golden Trojans the No. 2 seed behind unbeaten Cheverus.
Cheverus (8-0) opens the playoffs at home Saturday against Scarborough (3-5), and Thornton (7-1) will host Windham (4-4) on Saturday. The other quarterfinal matchups are No. 6 Sanford (5-3) at No. 3 South Portland (6-2) and No. 5 Deering (5-3) at No. 4 Bonny Eagle (5-3).
