AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Gov. Paul LePage is opening up the governor’s mansion to help people put food on their tables during the holiday season.
LePage is inviting the public to the Blaine House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to people who bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to local homeless shelters.
Visitors will be given a tour of the Blaine House and offered coffee and treats.
LePage will be holding two more open houses, on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, to encourage food donations to those in need.
