HOULTON — State police say a 65-year-old New Brunswick woman involved in a car crash on Interstate 95 in Houlton last week has died.

Police said in a statement released Monday that Shirley Haines died in a hospital last Friday of injuries suffered in the accident four days previously.

Police say Haines was driving south on the highway at about 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 when she decided to take the median cross over. Another vehicle hit Haines’ vehicle in the side.

Haines was the only occupant in her vehicle.

The occupants of the other car were not hurt.
