PORTLAND — Central Maine Power says it’s making headway as its utility crews work to restore power following an October snowstorm.
CMP said the number of homes and businesses in the dark had been reduced to about 20,000 as of Monday morning. At one point, the company had about 145,000 customers without electricity.
Bangor Hydro Electric Co. said nearly all of its customers were back online as of Monday morning, down from a peak of 15,000 without power at the height of the storm.
The storm packed heavy wet snow that knocked down tree and tree limbs. The National Weather Service says Acton received 20 inches of snow while Bridgton got more than 17 inches.
