SOMERSWORTH, N.H. — Police say a 14-year-old boy was seriously hurt when he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a street in Somersworth.
Police said the boy was crossing Main Street at River Street at about 6:30 a.m. today. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where his condition was not released.
Police told WMUR-TV the driver, identified as 32-year-old Scott Richard of Berwick, Maine, appeared distraught. He has not been charged with anything.
Neighbors said many young people typically are walking to school around the time of the crash.
