Jessica Bishop, left, of Town & Country Credit Union, Mike Rizzo of the North Deering Neighborhood Association, Linda Halleran of the credit union and Dave Libby of Town & Country were among the volunteers who gathered last week to plant 700 bulbs in a new Pink Tulip Project garden at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Auburn Street. Another planting was held along Baxter Boulevard at Vannah Avenue. Since the program began in 2006, more than 425 awareness gardens have been established, raising more than $250,000 for the Maine Cancer Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Fund.
