AUGUSTA — Hollywood Slots’ expansion into casino table games will likely come up for discussion when Maine’s Gambling Control Board meets next week.

Voters in Penobscot County approved a referendum last Tuesday allowing Hollywood Slots in Bangor to begin offering blackjack and other table games.

The casino has had slot machines since its opening six years ago, but table games have been illegal.

Now that voters have given their approval, Hollywood Slots hopes to add 14 table games – including blackjack, craps, roulette and poker – next spring.

Officials said the Gambling Control Board will probably discuss the matter at its regular monthly meeting Tuesday in Augusta.
