BATH — Lucille R. Brillant, 90, of Topsham, passed away on Nov. 17 at Hill House Assisted Living after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Caribou on July 9, 1921, she was a daughter of Joseph and Claudia Forgue Raymond. On Aug. 5, 1959 she married Romain Brillant and they moved to Brunswick in 1961 to make their home.

She was known as “Mrs. B” to the children that she cared for as a homemaker. Every Tuesday afternoon she would play Scrabble with friends Peggy, Claire and Sue, and she looked forward to weekly outings with family friend Holly and her son Raymond. For the last seven years she lived with her daughter Marie and her family in Topsham, watching her grandchildren grow into young adults.

She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

She is predeceased by her husband Romain; brothers Hector Alfred Raymond, Wilfred Raymond, Charles Raymond, and George “Mike” Raymond; and sisters Albeana and Bernadette Raymond, Nora Hitchings, Cora Cyr, Gertrude Halle, and Alice Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Marie Whitney and her husband Wayne of Topsham and their children Cole and Morgan Whitney; son Raymond Brillant of West Bath; sister Elizabeth Plopper of Enfield, Conn.; and many sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held on Nov. 21 at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Nov. 22 at St. John the Baptist Church, All Saint Parish, 29 Pleasant St., Brunswick, followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery.
