TEAMS
• York
Last season: 15-4-2, West champion
Outlook: The Wildcats return nine regulars, including leading scorer Nicci Heroux, top defenseman Tori Stocks and solid goalie Olivia Drew. York may not have its usual depth but has talent to contend.
• Greely
Last season: 12-7-1, East runner-up
Outlook: With 15 returning players, the Rangers look to return to the East title game. They are led by goalie Emma Seymour, and a lot of potential points from forwards Paige Tuller, Meg Finlay and CeCi Hodgkins.
• Falmouth
Last season: 8-10
Outlook: The Yachtsmen may have the strongest defensive corps with Monica Aaskov, Megan Fortier and Alyse Bazinet. Last year’s backup goalie, Kirsten Mazur, looks ready.
• Cheverus
Last season: 11-7-1, West semifinalist
Outlook: The Stags return their best defender (Sarah LaQuerre) and forward (Katie Roy), and freshman goalie Allie Spinney could steal some games. The Stags need others to help score goals.
• Scarborough
Last season: 12-5-2, West semifinalist
Outlook: All-star Abby Rutt transferred to New Hampton (N.H.) prep school but most of the Red Storm return, including forward Sarah Martens, defenseman Sam Nabo, and goalies Devan Kane and Shannon Hicks.
