BRUNSWICK — The Shambhala Meditation Center, located at 19 Mason St., is offering a weekend program of Daoist qigong on Dec. 10 and 11.

Taught by Eric Wilson, the program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with a mid-day break for lunch.

Daoist qigong is a spiritual discipline that simultaneously cultivates body and mind, according to a news release. It has been practiced for more than 2,000 years in China.

“ The practice of qigong strengthens joints, muscles, tendons and bones, nourishes internal organs, stimulates circulation of energy in our body, and enhances mental clarity,” states the release. “It is not only suitable to maintain health, but is an excellent way to gently enhance mobility. Qigong also helps build a strong foundation for sitting meditation.”

No previous experience is needed.

Comfortable clothing allowing for gentle movement is recommended.
