BANGOR — A Brewer man police say was drunk when he crashed car into a utility pole leaving his girlfriend paralyzed has been indicted.

Gordon C. Cameron was indicted Wednesday on charges of elevated aggravated assault, aggravated assault and aggravated criminal operating under the influence of intoxicants in connection with the March 30 accident.

Prosecutors tell the Bangor Daily News that the 18-year-old woman was left paralyzed from the chest down.

If convicted, Cameron faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 on the most serious charge of elevated aggravated assault.
