BRATTLEBORO, Vt. — Fuel oil companies in Maine and Vermont have merged and have plans to expand into select markets in the region.
Fleming Oil Company in Brattleboro finalized its merger with Dead River Company in Maine on Nov. 17.
Fleming, which operates at 11 locations in Vermont and New Hampshire, told the Brattleboro Reformer that Fleming convenience stores and fuel pumps will remain under the ownership of the Fleming family.
Dead River has been in business for 103 years and has 40 retail fuel offices in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. The company wants to expand into select New Hampshire and Vermont markets.
