WATERVILLE – Will Hanley scored 29 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and had seven assists Friday night to lead Bowdoin to an 84-68 win over Colby in a men’s basketball game.

The Polar Bears (6-2) opened up a 47-32 halftime lead. Bryan Hurley helped Bowdoin with 16 points and four steals, and Ryan O’Connell had 15 points and five assists.

Ben Foreman scored 17 points for Colby (3-4).

(12) FLORIDA 90, RIDER 69: Kenny Boynton scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half and the Gators (7-2) placed four players in double figures in a victory over the Broncs (1-9) at Jacksonville, Fla.

Florida, second in the nation with 11 3-pointers per game, bettered that mark with 13 3s in 28 attempts.

(2) CONNECTICUT 70, SETON HALL 37: Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Tiffany Hayes and Caroline Doty had 15 points apiece to lead the Huskies (9-0) to a rout of the Pirates (5-5) in the Big East opener for both teams at South Orange, N.J.

(20) DEPAUL 75, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS-EDWARDSVILLE 65: Anna Martin and Brittany Hrynko scored 15 points apiece, helping the Blue Demons (8-1) beat the Cougars (4-4) at Chicago.

MEN’S HOCKEY

UNE 2, FRANKLIN PIERCE 2: Zach Lokey converted a pass from Sean Sullivan with 40 seconds left in regulation to give the Nor’easters (2-6-2) a tie against Franklin Pierce (1-5-3) at Rindge, N.H.

Mike Chase scored late in the second period for UNE, which overcame a 2-0 deficit despite 49 saves by Franklin Pierce goalie Dave O’Brien.

Ian Edwards had 19 saves for UNE.

BOWDOIN 5, TUFTS 1: The Polar Bears (4-3-1, 2-2-1 NESCAC) got four unanswered goals in the final 31 minutes to beat the Jumbos (3-5, 2-3) at Brunswick.

Rob MacGregor, Timothy McGarry, Harry Matheson, Danny Palumbo and Robert Toczylowski had the goals. Jordan Lalor and Colin Downey each contributed two assists.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 5, COLBY 2: Keith Veronesi scored twice and Sean Curran had a goal and three assists to lead the Camels (2-5, 2-3 NESCAC) past the Mules (2-5, 1-4) at Waterville.

Nick Lanza and Ben Chwick scored for Colby.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

MAINE 2, UNION 1: Dawn Sullivan scored at 2:43 of overtime to lift the Black Bears (10-7-4) over the Dutchwomen (3-14-1) at Schenectady, N.Y.

Maine took a 1-0 lead on shorthanded goal by Brianne Kilgour with 13:59 remaining, but Stefanie Thomson evened it with 8:09 to play.

BOWDOIN 2, SALVE REGINA 2: Kenzie Novak and Kayte Holtz scored third-period goals to pull the Polar Bears (1-2-2) even with the Seahawks (3-3-2) at Middletown, R.I.

Sarah McCusker started the scoring for Salve Regina at 1:29 of the second period.

Taylor Shepherd made it 2-0 at 4:40 of the third, but Novak scored just 21 seconds later and Holtz evened it at 6:22.

NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 2, COLBY 1: Sam Hippern had a goal and an assist and Kristen Connors made 44 saves to lead the Pilgrims (3-5-1) past the Mules (2-4-1) at Waterville.

Jackie Tavella scored in the second period for Colby.
