NEW FACES

• Jeffrey Perkins of Gorham and Anthony Viola of Brunswick were promoted to general adjusters at Summit Adjustment Services in Falmouth. Perkins has more than 17 years of insurance experience. Viola has more than 30 years of experience in the claims industry.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

• Gail Phillips, general manager and chief financial officer of Village by the Sea, was awarded the 2011 Community Service Award by the Maine Innkeepers Association. Phillips was recognized for her commitment to charitable fundraising, specifically her work with Hospitality for Habitat as the top fundraiser in the state. The business raised $5,000 this year and $15,000 over the past four years.

• Caitlin Morrisroe, who practices at Absolute Health Chiropractic, recently received the Chiropractic Physician of the Year Award from Breakthrough Coaching, a professional organization that fosters high standards of ethical and professional practice for chiropractic professionals. Morrisroe received her chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences in Illinois. She is a long-standing practitioner in the Portland community.

• Norway Savings Bank has received a Gold-Level Well Workplace Award by the Wellness Council of America. This award recognizes Norway Savings Bank as one of the healthiest companies in America.

• Colleen Michel, a staffing coordinator at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, recently received the 2011 Celebrating Excellence in Caregiving Award. Michel was one of 12 caregivers across the state to receive the honor. She was recognized for showing a “consistent and commendable level of caregiving, dedication, and professionalism in caring for the state’s elderly and disabled citizens in nursing homes and assisted-living facilities,” according to a news release.

• Anne Walp, executive director and founder of Casa, recently received the Key4Women Achieve Award. Casa’s mission is to support a warm, nurturing environment that promotes growth and independence for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

• DeLorme was recently named an International CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards honoree for its newest product, the inReach Satellite Communicator. The inReach personal communication device offers two-way satellite messaging and SOS emergency communications from anywhere in the world through the Iridium network.
