PORTLAND — The Portland Police Department has launched a new online crime tip service.
People who wish to report a vehicle burglary, theft, vandalism, phone harassment, or identity theft can now visit the department’s website and complete the report online. Theft of prescription drugs and firearms cannot be reported online.
This service is not intended for reporting crimes in progress. If there are witnesses to the crime or any evidence present, an officer will still respond.
