BOWDOIN — Russell Bisson of Topsham and Georgia Temple of Bowdoin are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melinda Bisson, to Scott Vaughan of Scarborough.

Vaughan is the son of Eric and Lynne Vaughan of Wells, and formerly of North Reading, Mass.

Bisson is a 2002 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham and Southern Maine Community College, with a degree in criminal justice. She is employed by Town and Country Credit Union in Portland.

Vaughan is a 2002 graduate of North Reading High School and Endicott College, with a degree in criminal justice. He is employed by the town of Scarborough Police Department.

An Oct. 5, 2012, wedding is planned in York.
