The Portland Eagles club on Wednesday held its annual holiday celebration for Port Resources, a nonprofit organization that serves people with developmental disabilities.

The Eagles raised about $25,000 for  this year’s event, which provided gifts to about 30 clients as well as items needed in the organization’s residential program.

Attendees enjoyed music played by a DJ, a buffet lunch and the arrival of Santa Claus amidst rock music and smoke.

The Portland Eagles made the connection with Port Resources through a member whose daughter is a client of the organization. The Eagles club has been putting on the event for about 10 years.

Port Resources runs more than 20 residential programs in southern Maine for individuals with disabilities such as autism and Down syndrome.
