YARMOUTH – Kenny Richards had three goals and an assist Saturday night to lead Greely to a 7-2 victory against Yarmouth in a schoolboy hockey game at Travis Roy Arena.
Alex Kurtz scored twice for the Clippers (0-2) against the Rangers (2-0).
CAPE ELIZABETH 2, SCARBOROUGH 2: Kirby Saari of Cape Elizabeth (2-0-1) stopped 50 shots to preserve a tie against Scarborough (2-0-1) at Saco.
Alex Cherry had 22 stops for Scarborough.
Both teams had short-lived leads. Austin Shields gave the Capers a 1-0 lead after 9:52 of the second period, but Trevor Murray tied it 1:06 later.
Derek Barden’s goal 9:17 into the third put Scarborough ahead 2-1, but Nick Breed countered 15 seconds later.
BREWER 8, FALMOUTH 6: Kyle Alexander scored four goals and Tyler White added three as Brewer (3-0) held off visiting Falmouth (1-1).
Ben Freeman led the Yachtsmen with three goals and two assists.
Falmouth had a third-period goal disallowed to keep the score 6-6. Brewer then scored twice, one on a penalty shot.
MARSHWOOD/TRAIP ACADEMY 5, FRYEBURG ACADEMY/LAKE REGION 1: Nick Deveau and Drew Hale had a goal and an assist each to lead the Hawks (3-0) over the Ice Cats (1-2) at Dover, N.H.
Ryan Tobey gave the Hawks the lead five minutes into the game. They scored three more goals in the second period before T.J. Leach answered for the Ice Cats in the final two minutes of the period.
CHEVERUS 5, BONNY EAGLE 0: Harry Ridge scored a power-play goal 7:38 into the game to give Cheverus (2-1) all it would need against Bonny Eagle (1-2) at Gorham.
Mark Haas-Zangi made 19 saves for the shutout. John Cella had two assists.
KENNEBUNK 12, MASSABESIC/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Ned Richard and Kurt Oakman finished with three goals each, and Tyler Fowles, Peter Gottlieb and Ben Cherry added two goals apiece to lead the Rams (2-1) past the Mustangs (1-2) at Biddeford.
A.J. Gass and Nick Vigue scored for the Mustangs in the first period.
BASKETBALL
CAPE ELIZABETH 63, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 56: Henry Babcock had 16 points and six steals to help the Capers (3-1) hold off Gray-New Gloucester (1-2) at Cape Elizabeth.
Sam Donnelly and Chad Peterson added 14 points each for Cape.
Jean Sedjro scored 20 points for the Patriots, who took the lead in the fourth quarter before the Capers got some key rebounds and reclaimed the lead.
Rob West led Cape Elizabeth with eight rebounds, including five in the final quarter.
WAYNFLETE 86, FALMOUTH 41: Max Belleau hit 3 of 3 from 3-point range in the first quarter as the Flyers (4-0) opened with a 32-10 run against Sacopee Valley (1-3) at Portland.
Belleau finished with 12 points. Serge Nyirikamba led the Flyers with 14.
Chris Burke and Mitch Newlin finished with 10 points each for Waynflete, which had all 13 players score.
Jeff Taylor scored 17 points and Kyle Martineau added 11 for Sacopee.
LAKE REGION 73, FREEPORT 63: Alex Hartford had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Lake Region (1-3) against Freeport (1-2) at Naples.
The Lakers fell behind 20-14 in the first quarter, then turned it around for a 36-30 halftime advantage and didn’t trail again.
Michael Triglione scored 16 points and Cody Gibbons added 15 for Lake Region.
Mitch Loeman led the Falcons with 21 points. Josh Weirich had 14.
WELLS 72, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 47: Jake Moody scored 20 points to lead Wells (1-3) over the Seagulls (1-2) at Old Orchard Beach.
The Warriors, ahead 36-28 at the half, put the game away with a 25-9 third-quarter edge. Dylan Stevens scored six of his 13 and Zach Deshaies five of his 12 in the quarter.
Cole Boston added 10 points for Wells. Nick Carlin scored 11 and Anthony Langella-Laws 10 for Old Orchard.
GREELY 53, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 50: Michael McDevitt scored 13 points and Liam Maker added 12 for Greely (2-2), which held off the Raiders (0-4) at Fryeburg.
Bright Amoako scored 15 points and Michael Costa 10 for Fryeburg.
