PARIS — A 64-year-old woman has avoided jail time for her role in burning down several buildings that belonged to a former friend.
Joann Farris was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to pay about $70,000 in restitution for the August 2010 blaze.
She pleaded no contest to arson charges last month.
Prosecutors say Farris drove her daughter to buy kerosene and then took her to property owned by George Sprague in Albany Township where the daughter allegedly set the fire.
Two log cabins, a maintenance building and two storage buildings were destroyed. They were not insured.
The Sun Journal reports that Farris apologized in court.
