DALLAS – Michael Ryder and Loui Eriksson scored power-play goals in the first period, and the Dallas Stars ended the Boston Bruins’ seven-game winning streak, beating the defending Stanley Cup champions 4-2 on Saturday night.

Trevor Daley contributed a goal and two assists, Tom Wandell also scored, and Kari Lehtonen made 18 saves for the Stars, 2-4 in their previous six games.

Ryder, who helped the Bruins win the Cup last season before signing with Dallas as a free agent over the summer, notched his team-high 15th goal in the final minute of the opening period.

Tyler Seguin and Milan Lucic scored for Boston, and Tim Thomas stopped 23 shots.

SENATORS 3, SABRES 2: Bobby Butler scored the decisive goal in the fifth round of the shootout to lift visiting Ottawa.

CAPITALS 4, BLUE JACKETS 2: Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin and Dennis Wideman scored in a 2:53 span of the third period as Washington won at Columbus, Ohio.

COYOTES 4, WILD 2: Radim Vrbata scored a pair of goals two minutes apart early in the third period as visiting Phoenix ended a four-game losing streak.

Former Pirates goalie Curtis McElhinney made 28 saves for the win.

JETS 3, MAPLE LEAFS 2: Zach Bogosian and Blake Wheeler scored power-play goals as host Winnipeg won its third straight.

AVALANCHE 4, DUCKS 2: Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 18 saves in his first game in Anaheim since the Ducks traded him nearly two years ago, and Milan Hejduk scored two goals for Colorado.

DEVILS 3, PENGUINS 1: Ilya Kovalchuk scored on a penalty shot in the first period and added an assist on David Clarkson’s power-play goal four minutes later, leading New Jersey over visiting Pittsburgh.

PANTHERS 3, CANADIENS 2: Tomas Fleischmann scored two goals, including an empty-netter with 40.2 seconds remaining that ended up being the winner in Florida’s home victory.

RED WINGS 3, BLUES 0: Jimmy Howard stopped 31 shots for his ninth career shutout as Detroit won at home.

LIGHTNING 5, HURRICANES 2: Steven Stamkos got his second hat trick this season and fifth overall to lift Tampa Bay over visiting Carolina.

ISLANDERS 4, OILERS 1: Matt Moulson had a goal and two assists, and John Tavares and P.A. Parenteau both added one of each for host New York.
