GORHAM — Portland police arrested a man early this morning on charges of robbery after he allegedly threatened to cut an acquaintance’s throat in Gorham if he didn’t turn over his car keys.

Police arrested Robert Nowlin Sr., 35, at 12:46 a.m.

Gorham police say Nowlin was at an acquaintance’s in Friendly Village at 11 p.m. when he put a knife to the man’s throat demanding the keys to the man’s vehicle. Nowlin fled in the car with the man’s cell phone, police said.

Nowlin is being held at Cumberland County Jail.
