FORMER state Sen. Paula Benoit, who now works as Blaine House residence director and executive assistant to the first lady, visited the Bath Rotary Club on Jan. 10. She presented the history and historical significance of the Blaine House to the state of Maine and a summary of her duties at the Blaine House, where Gov. Paul LePage and his wife, Ann, reside. Benoit then followed that up with the story behind her new children’s book about Baxter, the LePages’ dog. A portion of the proceeds from book sales are donated to the Friends of the Blaine House.
