BRUNSWICK — A 23-year-old man remains in Cumberland County Jail today facing felony charges of aggravated trafficking in crack cocaine after Brunswick police arrested him Tuesday afternoon at the Brunswick Recreation Center.

Roy “Boo” Jackson, 23, whose address was not listed, was charged with Class A aggravated trafficking in crack cocaine and Class B unlawful trafficking in crack cocaine after police say he sold drugs on two previous separate occasions to a confidential informant.

One of the alleged buys took place in downtown Brunswick, within 1,000 feet of a drug-free safe zone, according to Brunswick Police Detective Rich Cutliffe.

Cutliffe declined to say how much crack cocaine Jackson allegedly sold.

“His drug trafficking has been under investigation for several months,” Cutliffe said today. “We anticipate future arrests of other subjects resulting from this investigation.”

The arrest resulted from a joint investigation of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office and Brunswick Police Department.

Jackson is being held on $10,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court on Feb. 21.
